I never quite know what to say when someone mentions they were talking about me to other people. I'm not talking about gossipy, shit-talk. But when someone mentions to your face that they, and a group of known or unknown people, were talking about you, what do you say? Usually if someone tells you they were talking about you, it's usually good or why bother mentioning it at all.
But it still makes me feel weird. Why were you talking about me? How do I even come up? There are a lot of people worth talking about in this world. People with talents, funny personality quirks, people of power and so forth. I've never really ever considered myself much to talk about. I can hardly see why I would come up in a random conversation when there is so many better things to talk about. Besides the fact I share a name with a famous scotch, I can't think of anything that would come up about me otherwise.
I can only think of a handful of things that would come up that might make people jump to me as a subject.
"Oh yes, speaking of douchebag....."
"You're right this food is dry...Oh speaking of dry....."
"Atheists are evil. Speaking of which......"
That's really about it. I can't really conceive any other reason why anyone would need to talk about me while I'm not there. I'm relatively unspectacular.
I'm not sure why I felt compelled to write about this. I just find it strange. Does anyone else find it strange when other people talk about them or am I just crazy?
I'm probably just crazy.....Anyone else would probably take it as a compliment.

It's probably just some people's wussy way of complimenting you. You are worth talking about.
BTW, I make a point of talking about you to one person every day. Usually store clerks and I usually make something up.
It'll make a great story when it comes back to you.
"Holy shit, YOU'RE Johnny Walker? I heard you can do the splits and juggle four cats at the same time."
