Accomplishing Day

We had a cardiac arrest at work today. She didn't make it. They rarely do. On a good day one pulls through. Sad but true. I got to visit the hospital morgue today for the first time ever. I helped take the body there. Most of the time they go to a coroners office to determine the cause of death. The morgue was a place of wonder and discovery. It looked like that hokey 1920's science fiction lab of doom. Metal tables and weird instruments that didn't appear to have a purpose. Awesome.

But then a life long dream came true. I finally got to see a brain floating in a jar! I've always wanted to see a brain or an eyeball floating in a jar. Preferably on a shelf of some sort with other organ collections. Twawesome! (shorthand for: it was awesome) But it was on a metal slab with other organs. Still pretty sweet. There was a couple of hearts in jars just hangin out and a few other things. When I worked at Alta View Hospital in pathology, the coolest thing I would ever see was a gallbladder in a jar. Actually, the coolest was a toe. I longed for the day I would run into a brain or an eyeball. Half my life is complete. All I have to see now is an eyeball floating in a jar for no obvious reason and I can die peacefully.

Now if that's not an accomplishing day, then I have no idea what is!
